Well fellas, I recieved my permit yesterday. Next weekend, i'll shop for the GlocK...19 that is. I have a local instructor (he highly recomended this gun for a new shooter) lined up for my wife and me since neither of us have ever fired a handgun so he'll be there to see us take our very first shots. These are a series of tactical self paced private lessons that are a little expensive but I think the one on one focus will be worth it.
I looking forward to the whole experience but, i'm not exactly all gitty about it. I fully realize the decision for owning a handgun in my family is protection. It sucks to know that there are people that will take your life for some twisted reason or a dime. These steps mean that I am prepared to take their's first, if I have to. I'll keep you posted on our progress. God bless and stay safe.

Congratulations on getting your CPL. Make sure you know your state law...and you may want to rent other 9mm handguns before deciding on the Glock 19. It's all about what fits you best.
Definitely let us know how the training went.

Congrats, Glocks are great but you should try out others as well. You will enjoy the process, feel free to ask questions, there are alot of educated people on this site.
