I've got a pretty good supply of everything I need so I haven't been ammo hunting in a while. I thought by what I saw in the stores here in MD that the ammo drought was easing up a bit...not a lot of quantity - but most cals were becoming available. Got a note from ammoman.com on .380 auto in stock at 7 pm last nite - checked the site at 10 pm and it was sold out. Its been a year now and I thought things were almost getting back to normal. The Wallys/Dicks/Bass Pro here continue to get small shipments every week, but its pretty much hit and miss again. How bad is it in your area?

Here in my part of PA, it's about the same but you can find plenty of Chinese made ammo in 9mm. I won't touch it because it seems you have more gunpowder left in the gun than what you needed to launch the bullet.

It's the same here in my neck of the woods. I find more empty shelves than ammo whenever I go looking.

I find a decent supply here in VA, but its hit or miss. When it's in, IT'S IN!!! When it's gone, it's GONE LOL!!! I've hit the range up over the last 5 days and shot 400rds of .40 since 1/14/2010. My brother inlaw shot 300 and I still have a few boxes left for target practice.

I hit a gusher tonight at my local Wally and scored 250 rounds of 9mm. I haven't seen Federal 9mm on the shelves for a while. Now I need to find four boxes of Win PDX1 in 9mm.

It's starting to get better. I am still having issues getting CorBon. But, you are right...when they get a shipment, it all comes in at once.

Check this site and you guys tell me what you think. It's a local warehouse about 19 miles from my here in NJ. They won't ship to my home state but will mostly everywhere else. I can pick it up during the day but wanted see if the prices seem reasonable. http://www.ammoman.com/

I know alot of people that swear by ammoman.com I just like the thought of paying for shipping on ammo. That stuff can get heavy and pricey. I'm look to the private reseller market sometimes. I gotta got pickup 50rds of Ga Arms 9mm +p tomorrow for $15.

Yeah, ammoman is about mid-level pricing with the shipping but they usually have stuff (in bulk) when others don't...BUT for another good source - check out sportmans supply co. in butler, pa they sell a TON on GB and shipping is free! Got a case of Blazer .45s last month from them for $270 - delivered.

Hey Trigg, how do you like that PDX1? I use it as my edc in .40 and I love it. All I know is that in .40 they really seem to pack a punch.

I'll let you know as soon as I find some. I can only find it in .45 and .40. I've never seen it in 9mm. I did score 50rds of Ga Arms 124gr +p.

Based on posts on another site that I frequent its still tough going as fars as ammo and reloading components are concerned in some areas. Even when the pinch was on I was always able to find what I needed at mom and pop stores. Sometimes I had to purchase powders that I had not worked with. Thats how I got turned on to Hodgdon powders. I do business with stores between Richmond, Virginia and Charlotte, North Carolina and I'm happy to report that the shelves are stocked when I get there. Especially at the store that I visit in Charlotte. Its much, much better than it was 6 months ago.
