I notice lots of folks signed up here, and haven't been back for months

I believe at the time they signed up, the forum wasn't really active as it was small, so there wasn't much postings to comment on

I think with this being a holiday, the board can send out a mass-greetings-message to all members

Something like

"Hello BGO member
we at BGO would like to wish you a Merry Christmas/Happy Holidays
Since we opened, we've been growing
If you haven't visited in a while, the BGO family would like to invite you back
We have grown, many new topics to discuss, many new members
Find out about activities in your State or town
Meet other members from your area
Blah blah blah , blah blah blah, bla blaaaaa..... "

just thinking out loud..

I send out a similar message every thirty days of inactive members. Finish this message and I'll send it out to them and the 35+ other acct's I deactivated because of inactivity.

"Hello BGO member
We at BGO would like to wish you and your family a
Happy Kwanza, and a Happy New Year

Since we opened, we've been growing
If you haven't visited in a while, the BGO family would like to invite you back
We have grown, many new topics to discuss, many new members
Find out about activities in your State or town,
You just might find someone local to you is also on BGO
Read stories from Veterans and everyday carry citizens.
Read stories of active or former police officers and their view on concealed carry
View or share pictures of gunning activities, or of arms you carry
Keep up on 2nd Amendment issues that may affect you.

We hope to see you back, if you find blackgunowners.org wasn't for you, we wish you well in your quest

From the family of
http://www.blackgunowners.org "

I'm no writer, but I would send something similar :)
* you may use that, or alter in any ways you wish

I also always include a link to the forum/sites,
reason, I have joined forums and forgot where it was because the emails I received from the site Admin. was from gmail or another domain , and doesn't show where I registered.

I send out monthly reminders to everyone that hasn't logged in 30 days. It's up to the members after that.

Yeah, I'm mostly here for the spying and trolling, but I figured I could get away with it if I keep things low-key. 8-)

I'm also trying to gain a little perspective. If you can see my IP you'll know what I mean. ;)

Thats a pretty good idea MIB and Trig. Bersa is of course correct in thinking that some people ( a very small number) just signed up to see what was going on.....

Some forum software can actually OVERRIDE "notification settings" ( not sure if PHPBB has that capability )
