When my kids are a little older, a roadtrip to Arizona will be in order.

Travel Icon Says He'll Avoid Arizona Because of Gun Laws

Saturday , August 22, 2009

PHOENIX —
Well-known travel icon Arthur Frommer said he'll avoid visiting Arizona because state laws permit "thugs" and "extremists" to openly tote guns.

Frommer, the author of budget-travel guides, said on his blog Wednesday that he was "shocked beyond measure" by reports that protesters openly carried guns and rifles outside a Phoenix building where President Barack Obama spoke on Monday.

As a result, Frommer said he won't be spending his tourism dollars at the Grand Canyon, or anywhere else in Arizona, because he doesn't want to travel in a state where civilians carry loaded weapons as a means of political protest.

"I will cancel any plans to vacation or otherwise visit in Arizona until I learn more," Frommer wrote. "And I will begin thinking about whether tourists should safeguard themselves by avoiding stays in Arizona."

Phoenix Mayor Phil Gordon says he spoke with Frommer on Thursday and invited him to visit the city to clear up any possible misconceptions about safety.

I'd tell that pompous :3hat: to stay away if that's how he feel's. How'd he come up with "thugs" and "extremists" anyway?

That's because he's a clown who believes what others tell him rather then to study the facts about gun ownership in my state! Because he sees or reads a couple of news media stories now he's an expert on "thugs" and "extremists".

Betcha I could walk up to him in a nice polo shirt, Dockers trousers and some cool penny loafers [you know, the typical Ivy League look] and stand right next to him armed with my 1911 and the fool would never know it! The minute I tell him I have a gun on my belt he'll run away like a jack rabbit.

If he really feels that way about Arizona then STAY AWAY. We don't need his money, his ideology and his P.O.V. about our 2A rights.
