Everything I own except my shotgun has one ready to go. My shotgun has a dummy round in itwith the fireing pin dropped so I can pump it for dramatic effect in the dark

Yes I do carry +1 all the time... I have done it for as long as I have been carrying... I have met people that felt very uncomfortable carrying one in the chamber. I have seen people argue the point that it is very unsafe to carry one in the chamber. While carrying one in the chamber is not for everyone, it is a must for me...

I always carry a hot weapon. it just feels natural to me. since my wife has yet to carry on her hip i tell her to put it in her purse and carry amber. worst case scenario i can engage the target and that will give her enough time to chamber and rock out! Any time, Any situation, Any weapon. i always carry locked and loaded. I'm always Ready to Rock!

Carrying an EDC and not having one in the chamber is the same as carrying an empty firearm.

Think of the basic firearm rule "Always keep the gun unloaded until ready to use", in personal defense "ready to use" is pretty much anytime you are not dry fire practicing or cleaning your firearm.

I'm sitting here thinking how is this unsafe. As an operator, you are in control regarding the measure of safety to those around you. You are only increasing your chances of not surviving by not chambering ypour EDC firearm. I can't think of any concerns that justify a process that is likely to take you out of the fight before it has begun. You're only taking away an advantage and handing it over to a perp. Someone help me understand...

Get comfortable with one in the tube or be dead and buried. Lately, I have had several, consecutive bad dreams about pulling the trigger on a what I thought was a loaded-ready weapon and hearing "click" while the bad guy shoots over and over again at me. What a nightmare.

I see no different carrying a rond in the chamber than carrying a double action revolver if you pull the trigger both go boom

I started out carrying without one in the chamber. Then one day I made the decision to carry cocked and loaded, and I haven't looked back since. For many people, I think it boils down to what they are comfortable with. Some people don't have anything against guns, but they are not comfortable around them, so they don't shoot at all. I don't fault them. If you are not comfortable with it, then you are better off not doing it.

I do think that people who are not comfortable carrying at full ready, may not be willing pulling the trigger if it came time to do it. Once you make the decision to carry with one chambered, you are saying I'll do whatever it takes. It is a mental state of mind, and not everyone has reached that point.

Why carry of you don't have one in the tube? Always got one ready to fly.

1 in the chamber at all times, even when in the safe! Since i'm the only one who handles my firearms i don't worry about safety (when it comes to accidental discharges). I treat each and evey weapon as if it's loaded even while cleaning..soooo no accidental discharges here...period!
