As far as cross-training I would recommend taking a seminar of

Gene Bell's or Libre fighting system

When I get some funds, I really want to do some force on force training with the blue guns... I've been doing some reading and most of the gun fights are very close range so training can only help the situation.

Come on try our Wednesday night class. It starts at 7pm and you get another for free. The first month is $50 and that includes your Gi, but no shoes. Afterwards, its $75 a month.

Ninjitsu is by far one of the most complete systems in the world. The system teaches everything from using ordinary weapons such as a brush or a comb for self-defense,joint locks, nerve strikes, kicks.punches, grappling and even dissappearing intro thin air and walking on water and climbing walls  .

If you want to learn Ninjutsu, I'll post a link so that you want get sucked in by the crazies...and a few helpful hints.

1.) seek a qualifed instructor

2.) make your training your own. No one understands your needs better than you.

3.) forget rank, I was a Master in Karate before I began training in Ninjutsu. train to survive

4.) never forget the reason why you began to train.

real Ninja belong to societies that are anchored in Japan.

I hate taking these baby steps. I'm glad I'm still limber enough at 38 to perform all the basic rolls.

My God it was hot today. Sensei does not believe in AC. I was drenched in sweat after 3 back rolls. Performing wrist locks and take down was a chore too. I guess training in this heat helps prepare you for the fog of battle.

 Lucky for you this is not back in the day when the dojo did not have padded mats to fall on.The floor was covered with hay which "acted" like a mat.Needless to say most of the students came out with bruises galore.

I must be incredibly out of shape. I'm so sore today after working on basic stances and strikes. I think I'm gonna just take two one hour classes this week instead of doing a two hour weekend class.

I figured I'd resurrect this thread since one of my instructors has joined the fam. I'm still holding strong, but taking baby steps. Y'all Ga folk feel free to join me this evening in Stone Mountain if you have some free time. You can take a free class and learn a lot in two hours.

Considering the date, not sure where you are in your training but the head instructors credentials says he studied under Bud Malstrom. Bud lives here in GA and used to work for me. I believe he still takes on private students. If you are interested I may be able to put you in touch with him.

Thanks for the offer, but I'm thoroughly satisfied with the training I'm receiving under Sensei Sessions. I have learn a lot since starting two months ago. As a matter of fact I have a class today at 6pm. I anyone has some free time, please come out for a free session. You can alot in two hours and Sensei is more than willing to answer any questions you may have. Plus you may get a chance to see me get thrown all over the place (if there are no blackbelt present). PM me if you have any questions. Class start at 6pm in the village of Stone Mountain.
